Where I've been:
Where I've lived:
Thailand
I lived here to learn about international diplomacy and negotiation, as well as the impact of tourism on local communities and the natural environment. I traveled extensively throughout Thailand and the surrounding countries, interviewing everyone from war survivors to Buddhist monks.
I grew up in Reading, PA, and returned to Philadelphia, PA as an adult to start my professional career. I have assisted with organizing hiking and surfing trips for both domestic and international groups.
Pennsylvania, USA
Belgium
As the capital of the European Union, Belgium was an incredible place to learn about European and international politics. I worked at a center to aid migrants that had crossed the Mediterranean, a media literacy organization covering the travel bans during Covid-19, and a think tank lobbying to change external policies on behalf of women abroad. Beyond politics, Belgium's interconnectedness to the rest of the continent provided easy access to experiencing other cultures, histories, and languages.
Oaxaca, Mexico
I lived here to study Spanish and learn more about the rapidly growing "digital nomad" population in Oaxaca. I also went on several camping and hiking trips that I organized myself.
South Carolina, USA
I figured there was no better place to learn about public relations and marketing than the capital of Southern Hospitality, so I studied here for three years! On weekends, I volunteered to organize and lead cultural trips for international students throughout the Southeast.
